The employee will perform administrative and clerical support duties that are directly related to the Accounting Clerk position and the daily financial operations of the company. These duties include, but are not limited to: • Filing, organizing, scanning, photocopying, and maintaining accounting records, invoices, purchase orders, receipts, payroll documents, and other financial files in both physical and electronic formats. • Preparing, sorting, and processing accounting documents for data entry and recordkeeping. • Assisting with data entry of invoices, receipts, payments, deposits, and other financial transactions into the company's accounting system. • Receiving, sorting, and distributing incoming mail and correspondence related to accounting and administrative operations. • Answering telephone calls, responding to routine inquiries related to billing and payments, and directing calls to the appropriate personnel. These duties are performed in support of the Accounting Clerk position and are intended to assist with the company's accounting, bookkeeping, recordkeeping, and administrative functions. Operate computer programs to record, store, and analyze information. Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes. Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations. Operate 10-key calculators, typewriters, and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents. Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers. Code documents according to company procedures. Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records. Perform general office duties, such as filing, answering the telephone, and handling routine correspondence. Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to accounts. Prepare and process payroll information. Prepare and file government taxes like revenue tax, withholding tax, and federal tax. Prepare and process disbursement checks. Prepare bank deposits, verifying and balancing receipts. Prepare purchase orders and expense reports. Maintain financial or account records. Do errands and clerical work that must be assigned from time to time.
